Conference Proceedings

All accepted papers (max. 4 pages) after the pre-conference peer-review process will be published as chapters in the conference proceedings by Springer. The registered author of each accepted paper will receive a "Springer Certificate of Acceptance" certifying that the paper has been accepted for publication in the conference proceedings and also for presentation as an oral communication during the conference, if they plan to attend (see below).

The conference proceedings will be published online on 10 November 2018 at SpringerLink in the book series “Advances in Science, Technology and Innovation” (ASTI). All authors will receive a soft copy of the proceedings during the conference.

The last title published in the ASTI book series was the proceedings of Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration (1st EMCEI). The conference aimed at promoting the Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration. The proceedings contain more than 585 papers accepted by the EMCEI scientific committee. You can read the contents of this volume at:

Oral Communications

There are two types of oral communications: a PowerPoint presentation of 15 min or a Poster presentation of 5 min. The type chosen will depend on the author’s stated preference and the decision of the scientific committee.

Awards

During the conference the best paper selected from each conference track (10 papers in total), as judged by the scientific committee, will receive awards (see Conference Tracks).

Decisions are based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and newness of contribution
  • Appropriate application of methodology
  • Effective communication of the central ideas of the work
  • Usefulness of research in resolving environmental problem(s)

The 10 winning authors will receive the "Springer Award for Outstanding Paper," a gift voucher for the amount of 300 euros which can be used to purchase books on SpringerLink, and also a Springer bag personalized with the 1st CAJG logo and an advertising message “Winner of the best conference paper at the 1st CAJG – Tunisia 2018.” All winners will be presented with a commemorative certificate and will be acknowledged during the awards luncheon (Day 3 in the Conference Program).

Special Issues

Arabian Journal of Geosciences
(Impact Factor = 0.860)

After the conference, the organising committee aims to publish a set of high-quality topical collections (special issues) on cross-cutting themes of Earth sciences in the Arabian Journal of Geosciences (AJGS). Authors of the selected (short) papers will be invited after the conference to submit an extended version of their papers for evaluation by AJGS editors before publication.

SN Applied Sciences

SN Applied Sciences

Springer (a part of Springer Nature), the organizing partner of the 1st Conference of the Arabian Journal of Geosciences, and the editors of its new journal SN Applied Sciences aim to select before the conference a set of high-quality short proceedings papers. Authors of the selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their papers for evaluation by SN Applied Sciences editors before publication in the prestigious inaugural volume of 2018.

SN Applied Sciences is one of the first Springer Nature imprinted journals. Springer Nature shaped for this journal a strategy that aims for the highest international visibility through various marketing and promotion channels. Authors will enjoy a free submission (no colour or page charges) and a rapid publication of their submitted papers. Readers will enjoy a free access for the first two years. The journal aims to foster a strong international interdisciplinary applied science content to a wide readership, to present sound science discovery and to solve practical problems in an innovative way. Springer Nature plans to start an efficient strategy that allows this journal a quick indexation. In this regard, once the first articles are published the journal will be submitted for indexation in several prestigious abstracting and indexing databases.
